What is an RPGPPT?
RPGPPT is an interactive game format that transforms an ordinary PowerPoint file into a role-playing adventure. Players move through a branching storyline, making choices that shape how the story unfolds—just like in a classic RPG.
While the format can be played by anyone, it was specifically designed to make English language lessons more dynamic and communicative. In this manual, the teacher acts as the game master, and the students take on the roles of players and decision-makers.
Each slide presents part of the story, and players progress by clicking buttons that link to other slides. Every choice leads to a new scene, challenge, or consequence. Sometimes, options appear only after the students complete a task or solve a mini-game, keeping the experience exciting and unpredictable.
The teacher usually controls the slides, while students collaborate to make decisions and discuss their reasoning in English. The goal is to spark conversation and teamwork, rather than just reading options aloud.
Good choices move the story forward; bad ones might send players back—or even end the game! But even “Game Over” moments are designed to be lighthearted and funny, so students stay motivated and eager to try again.
